85-year-old cyclist struck and killed while riding through Carmel

INDIANAPOLIS – A bicyclist was killed Friday in Carmel after a crash involving a vehicle driven by a teen.

Carmel police officers responded to the crash at West Main Street and Towne Road around 10 a.m. May 3. On site they found the 85-year-old man on his bicycle who had been hit and took him to a hospital.

The victim, Gioacchino Muton, died in hospital.

According to CPD, the vehicle driven by the juvenile male was traveling south on Towne Road when it struck the male on the bicycle who was crossing the street.

This investigation is ongoing.
