Case filed against Uttar Pradesh school principal for raping 15-year-old girl: Police

Kaushambi (UP):

Police have booked a school principal on suspicion of raping an underage student and formed teams to arrest him, an official said.

The FIR was filed on Thursday after an alleged video of the incident was circulated on social media platforms.

Sirathu Circle Officer (CO) Avdesh Kumar Vishwakarma said, “We have booked DK Mishra (40), the principal of a private school, for raping a 15-year-old student.”

Based on the complaint, the police arrested the accused under Section 376 (rape) and relevant sections of the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act at Kokhraj police station of the district.

According to police, the alleged incident occurred in April.

“The girl was allegedly threatened by the accused not to tell anyone about the incident. However, the family members came to know about it when the video of the incident was posted online,” the officer said.

“Teams have been formed to arrest the accused, who is currently absconding,” the CO added.
