Levi Wright, son of a rodeo star, dies after tractor accident

Truly devastating news this week from the sports and entertainment industry:

Spencer Wright and his wife had to take their 3-year-old son, Levi, off life support on Sunday … not long after the little boy suffered a brain injury when he drove his toy tractor into a river.

The incident occurred on May 21.

Family friend Mindy Sue Clark confirmed Levi’s death on Facebook.

“I can’t even put into words how hard the last two weeks have been,” Clark wrote in a June 3 post.

“From the moment my phone rang the night of his accident to last night when I got the news that he had to go. I don’t want to focus on the bad or sad, even though it feels like someone ripped out my heart and crushed it right in front of my eyes.”

Mindy continued to praise the community that came together in support of Levi, saying on the same platform:

“I want to focus on the many miracles that we were all able to witness during these 12 days.”

Levi was in critical condition after the above-mentioned accident.

His mother Kallie had already announced on June 2 that the family would “let him go” very soon and explained:

“After several sleepless nights, a lot of research, numerous conversations with the best neurologists in the world and millions of prayers, here we are, facing our greatest fear.

“Levi showed us just enough to give us time to do all this,” she continued. “We prayed that this would be his way of defying the odds and proving to us that he wanted to stay, but now we see that he wanted to give us time to come to terms with letting him go.”

“I told you that my baby is attentive and considerate, and I truly believe he did that for us.”

Kallie and Spencer also have a five-year-old daughter and a nine-month-old son, both of whom are pictured with their late sibling in the Instagram photo their father posted directly above.

Kallie summed up the weekend as follows:

“It brings me comfort to know that he will grow up to be the perfect little boy he was and have the ability to do all the things he loves!

“I know there are angels up there waiting to hold him until I can again! We will miss him every second of every day down here, but we are convinced this is the best thing we can do for him!

“We love you, baby beans, and I can’t wait for the day when you can ‘work the soil’ with me again.”

Clark, for her part, wrote the following on Facebook after Levi was taken off life support:

“He brought so many people together. In such a dark world, we were able to see light through the hands of a child. He is everything his mother and father would have wanted him to be.

“I am so grateful for all the time I got to be his ‘Aunt Mindy.’ It is a blessing I can never top.”
