Kangana Ranaut supports Raveena Tandon a day after she was attacked in road rage incident

New Delhi: Kangana Ranaut expressed her support for Raveena Tandon, who was attacked on a Mumbai street the previous day. On Monday, Kangana shared her thoughts on Instagram Stories, describing the incident as “absolutely alarming”. She condemned the “outbursts of road rage” and demanded that “those responsible must be reprimanded”.

In her Instagram stories, Kangana wrote, “What happened to Raveena Tandon ji is absolutely alarming. If there were 5-6 more people in the opposing group, she would have been lynched. We condemn such road rage. These people must be reprimanded. They must not be allowed to get away with such violent and malicious behaviour.”

What Mumbai Police said about the incident

According to a report by news agency PTI, citing a Mumbai Police official, the investigation revealed that Raveena Tandon’s car did not collide with anyone. A man had posted a video on a social media platform claiming that Raveena’s driver hit his mother and Raveena attacked her while questioning her. He claimed that the incident took place when he was walking with his mother, sister and niece near Raveena’s house.

However, the police officer explained that CCTV footage from the area showed women in close proximity to Raveena’s car, but they were not hit. The footage showed a group accusing Raveena and her driver of attacking three women.

All about the Raveena Tandon incident

The incident took place on Carter Road in Bandra on Saturday evening, according to police. Though no FIR was lodged, an entry was made in the station book at Khar police station, the officer added.

After Raveena Tandon got out of her car to address the crowd, she was allegedly pushed and punched, according to the police officer. In a video, a man claimed that Raveena was drunk and started attacking the woman after she got out of the car.

Following the incident, a group of people confronted Raveena and her driver on the premises of a building on Carter Road. The altercation occurred after the driver reversed his car. The viral video shows a woman complaining that Raveena and her driver assaulted her, causing her nose to bleed.

Following the altercation, both parties went to Khar police station and submitted written statements claiming that they had no allegations against each other, the official said.
