Investigations into the shooting in Atlanta on June 2, 2024

Police have not released the names of either victim.

ATLANTA — Two young men, just a few years apart, were injured in separate shootings in Atlanta, police said Sunday.

The first incident happened shortly before 2 a.m. on Sunday on Oldknow Drive.

Officers said they found a 16-year-old boy who had been shot in the face. They added that he was alert, conscious and breathing. The boy was taken to hospital.

The second incident occurred around 3:30 a.m. on Metropolitan Parkway.

There, officers said they found an 18-year-old man who had been shot in the abdomen. Police add that he was alert, conscious and breathing. He was taken to hospital for treatment.

There is currently little additional information about these two incidents. The names of both victims have not been released and there is no word on a suspect.
