Horror in Delhi: E-rickshaw driver drugs woman, rapes her and leaves her injured on the street with her son

An FIR was filed under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including rape, attempt to murder, assault with criminal intent and theft.

Delhi: A shocking incident of assault and robbery has surfaced in North Delhiwhere a 25-year-old woman was allegedly drugged, assaulted and robbed by an e-rickshaw driver. The accused, identified as Mohd. Umer alias Ghochu, was arrested.

The victim traveled from Bihar To Punjab travelling by train with her three-year-old son, was making a brief stopover in Delhi when the robbery occurred. On May 26, policemen at the Kotwali police station received a distress call about a robbery. When they reached near the Geeta Colony flyover, the policemen spotted the woman, who hailed from Bihar’s Araria, injured and bleeding, with her son by her side. She was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention.

According to the victim, she had stopped in Delhi to buy some things at Sadar Bazaar before continuing her journey to Punjab where her husband works. At around 6:30 pm, she boarded an e-rickshaw to return to the railway station. The driver offered her something to drink after which she lost consciousness. She was then taken to a remote area near Yamuna Khadar where she was raped and robbed of Rs 3,000 in cash and her mobile phone.
