Man dead after hit-and-run in Baton Rouge, police investigate

BATON ROUGE, Louisiana (BRPROUD) – Baton Rouge police are investigating after a man was struck and killed by a car on Wednesday, May 29.

According to police, the crash involving an unknown vehicle and a pedestrian occurred around 8:30 p.m. in the 3000 block of southbound Nicholson Drive. BRPD identified the victim as Shelton Morgan, 42.


According to police, Morgan was standing on the raised median of Nicholson Drive when he crossed into the southbound lane and was struck by a vehicle. He was taken to the hospital but died of his injuries, police said.
