Merrimack man dies in motorcycle-car crash in Manchester

Christopher Leitz of Merrimack died from his injuries in the area of ​​Willow and Union Streets. The car involved was driven by a Chester teenager.

MANCHESTER, NH — A Merrimack man was killed Wednesday in a crash in Manchester involving the motorcycle he was operating and a car driven by a Chester teenager.

Manchester police, fire and AMR ambulance responded to a report of an accident at the intersection of Union and Willow Streets. En route, emergency responders were informed that CPR was being performed on the driver of the motorcycle.

Firefighters and paramedics continued to perform CPR and initiated a trauma alert at Elliot Hospital for a person with multisystem trauma. The man succumbed to his injuries from the accident shortly after arriving at the hospital.

According to police, the crash involved a 2016 Ford Escape driven by a 16-year-old from Chester; the 2019 Honda motorcycle was driven by Christopher Leitz, 58, of Merrimack.

Earlier this month, a Dunbarton couple were killed in a crash between a car and a motorcycle on Elm Street in Manchester.

The cause of the accident is currently under investigation by the Manchester Police Department’s Traffic Unit. Anyone who witnessed the accident or has information is asked to contact the Manchester Police Department at 603-668-8711.
