Man wanted for attempted murder arrested after incident at Tarentum bar – WPXI

TARENTUM, Pennsylvania – Police officers from several departments were called to Tarentum when a man wanted for attempted murder nearly a year ago was spotted at a bar.

There was a heavy police presence overnight on 6th Avenue, 7th Avenue and Harrison Lane.

Police officers from Tarentum, Penn Hills and Plum, as well as the Pennsylvania State Police, were on the scene in the early hours of Memorial Day.

A Channel 11 crew on the scene saw officers searching the bushes and heard a roar in the air.

They were looking for Iven Cashua Miller, 37, of Cleveland, Ohio.

According to police, Miller was at the Devil Dog Saloon and was eventually taken into custody.

A neighbor who wished to remain anonymous told us what she had heard.

“From what I heard, a man was harassing a woman. It started in the tavern down the street from my house and it eventually escalated when the police came,” she said.

An arrest warrant was issued against Miller in June last year.

He is accused of shooting two people on Victoria Avenue in New Kensington.

No one was hit by the shots.

Miller faces several charges, including two counts of attempted manslaughter and attempted strangulation.

According to court records, his preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 6.
