Former Oshawa restaurant manager charged with sexual assault

An Oshawa man and former restaurant manager is facing charges for allegedly sexually harassing his co-workers in the workplace, Durham Regional Police said.

In March 2024, an investigation was launched after two former employees alleged that their supervisor had sexually abused them.

According to police, the male suspect, known as “Ram,” worked at One Eyed Jack’s restaurant at 33 Taunton Road West.

The accused no longer worked at that establishment, but police determined he may have been employed at other restaurants in the Greater Toronto Area and the New Hamburg/Kitchener area.

On Thursday, police said Jeyaraam Sivagnanasundaram, 38, of Oshawa, was charged with three counts of sexual assault and two counts of sexual exploitation.

Investigators fear there could be more victims. His photo was published.
