Teen arrested after chase in Pasadena – Pasadena Now

A 16-year-old juvenile was taken into custody following a high-speed chase in Pasadena at approximately 8:34 p.m. on Wednesday, May 22. The incident began when members of the Pasadena Street Crime Unit observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed at the intersection of North Fair Oaks Avenue and West Washington Boulevard, according to Pasadena Police Lieutenant Edgar Sanchez.

According to Sanchez, officers attempted to stop the vehicle for speeding, but it did not stop, leading to a chase.

The initial chase, which lasted approximately three minutes, was called off due to high speed and traffic conditions.

A short time later, officers were able to locate the vehicle again.

The driver initially escaped the officers again, but was eventually arrested by the police again.

The pursuit continued until the vehicle stopped in a parking lot at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), where the driver was arrested without further incident, Sanchez said.

The 16-year-old suspect was arrested for felony escape. He was later released to his guardian, Sanchez said.
