For those who don’t know, this portrait was compiled for the July 2024 issue and was created from a collection of previous images, as the Princess did not model for this portrait.

According to Tatler, “The two portraits inspired the new Akoje Residency in collaboration with the King’s Foundation, which will allow African, Caribbean and diaspora artists to spend time at the King’s estate, Dumfries House in Scotland, to focus on their artistic practice.”

It is important to note that this portrait serves as a continuation of the July 2022 issue celebrating the Platinum Jubilee of the late Queen Elizabeth.

However, after the cover photo was shared on Instagram, fans had a few important words to say.

One fan even wrote: “Such a disappointing portrait! Princess Kate is beautiful and the portrait should look like the healthy, happy Princess of Wales!”

“She went through hell fighting cancer! It’s unbelievable that no one reviewed this terrible painting before it was published!

She deserves love and support. Surely someone in the royal family must have said that this portrait was unacceptable!!!”

“Tatler, please do the honourable thing. Get someone who is actually able to look at photos of Kate and paint a beautiful picture of her that actually looks like Princess Katherine!”

“Doing nothing would be dishonorable!” the social media user also added.

Others also spoke up and admitted: “It would have gone better with a broom.”
