One was killed in a shooting on Medgar Evers Boulevard. after the fight

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – A man is dead following a shooting in Jackson on Wednesday, May 22.

The shooting happened before 8:30 a.m. at Medgar Evers Boulevard and Boiling Street

Jackson police said an altercation occurred between two people at the location and shots were fired. One man died at the scene and the other person was taken to a local hospital for further treatment.

“What I can say here is that we don’t have to settle disputes with weapons. We encourage everyone to put down their weapons,” said Captain George Jimerson of the Jackson Police Department (JPD).
