Stitch Buffalo and the Water Buffalo Club celebrate Josh Allen’s birthday

Buffalo, New York (WBEN) – Stitch Buffalo and Buffalo Water Club 716 are hosting a special event this Tuesday at their new headquarters to celebrate World Day for Cultural Diversity and Josh Allen’s birthday.

“We’re going to celebrate something we have in common, which is our appreciation for cultural diversity and our love of the Buffalo Bills,” said Michelle Perkins, communications director for Stitch Buffalo.

The nonprofit fiber arts center, which recently found a new home at 284 Plymouth Avenue, is celebrating Josh Allen with a birthday cake and a 17% off sale on iconic women-made Buffalo horn hats refugees for the Buffalo Water Club.

“Proceeds from the ongoing hat sales at the store today and on the Water Buffalo Club’s 716 website will help raise money for the Patricia Allen Fund, benefiting Oishei Children’s Hospital,” adds Perkins .

Stitch Buffalo is a fiber arts center serving the refugee community, providing a place where refugee women can come together and use their textile skills to make money, find community, and practice English in order to improve their integration into the community.

They also offer community classes to the public in textile arts. They have a fiber art thrift store where people in the community can purchase low-cost supplies for sewing, knitting and other fiber arts.

The event continues until 4 p.m. ET this Tuesday, May 21. All ages are welcome.

“We’re an inclusive space and we’re happy to meet anyone who loves Buffalo, the Buffalo Bills and loves textiles or art. We’re happy for you to come poke around and see what we’re doing here.”
