Independent wrestler murdered by police officer while on administrative leave after Lyft incident

According to several local media outlets, independent wrestler Reginald “Reggie” Folks was shot and killed by a police officer in Union City, Georgia.

Folks was working as a driver for the Lyft company when he picked up Koby Minor, who had worked for the Atlanta Police Department for six years but was on administrative leave after being arrested on drug charges in late 2023.

According to Union City police, Folks picked up Minor via Lyft on the morning of May 15, 2024, to take him home, and at some point during the ride, Minor believed that Folk belonged to a gay fraternity and was trying to kidnap him and for her to recruit.

Additionally, the report states that Minor “heard what he believed was another voice in his ear talking to him, but did not say what the voice was saying” and that he also believed that Folk was talking to someone spoke a different language on his phone.

At this point, he reportedly attempted to exit the vehicle but was unable to do so. When the car came to an intersection, he shot Folks in the head, broke a window, stopped a passerby and told her the above story.

This led to Minor’s arrest. He was charged with aggravated assault and murder and resigned from his job.

He is still in prison.
