Two Ozark County residents were injured in a two-vehicle crash on Missouri Highway 5, ten miles south of Ava, Monday afternoon.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 70-year-old Phillip Wood of Wasola, Missouri, was traveling south on Missouri Highway 5 while attempting to make a left turn onto Missouri Highway 95 when he collided with a vehicle driven by 39-year-old Clarissa Allen of Mountain Home. Allen is reported to have sustained no injuries.

Wood was taken by ambulance to CoxHealth South in Springfield. His passenger, 65-year-old Harold Brookover of Wasola, Missouri, was taken by rescue helicopter to CoxHealth South in Springfield. Both Wood and Brookover suffered moderate injuries, according to the report.
