PHILADELPHIA, Mississippi – A jockey was taken to a Philadelphia hospital and then flown by helicopter to another hospital following an incident Sunday at the Neshoba County Fair racetrack.

A photo from the fair showed an ambulance at the racecourse. A horse may have left the racecourse with its jockey sometime before 5:30 p.m.

A short time later, it was reported by radio that the Philly police were clearing the way for the helicopter to land and were also escorting the ambulance through the city on the “quietest part, right through the city.”

The statement did not say what condition the jockey was in.
