Trump describes Hezbollah attack on Israel’s Golan Heights as “a historic moment created by Biden and Harris”: “Can’t be…”

Donald Trump blamed Joe Biden and Kamala Harris for the deadly Hezbollah attack in northern Israel, considered the worst since October 7. During his campaign rally in Minnesota on Saturday evening, July 27, Trump said the president and vice president were responsible for the rocket attack on a soccer field that killed 12 children and teenagers.

The former president said the attack, which targeted the Druze minority, “must not be forgotten.” “I want to condemn the evil attack on Israel that took place today. A rocket fired by Hezbollah killed at least a dozen children, young children. They were playing on a soccer field in the Golan Heights,” Trump told the crowd in St. Cloud.

“Today’s attack on Israel must not be forgotten and will go down in history as another moment caused by a weak and ineffective President and Vice President of the United States,” he added.

Biden and Harris have not yet publicly commented on the attack. However, the White House National Security Council said in a statement that the US “will continue to support efforts to end these horrific attacks along the Blue Line, which must be a top priority.” “Our support for Israel’s security is rock solid and unwavering against all Iranian-backed terrorist groups, including Lebanon’s Hezbollah,” the council added.

Josep Borrell Fontelles and Benjamin Netanyahu publish statements

EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell Fontelles urged restraint and called for an independent international investigation into the attacks. “Shocking images from the football pitch in the Druze town of Majdal Shams. I condemn this bloodbath in the strongest possible terms. We need an independent international investigation into this unacceptable incident. We call on all parties to exercise the utmost restraint and avoid further escalation,” he wrote on X.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he had spoken to local politicians about the tragedy. “The entire country of Israel sends its deepest condolences to the families of those killed and to the entire Druze community,” he said.

He added: “Israel will not put the murderous attack on the agenda. Hezbollah will pay a heavy price for it, which it has not paid so far.”

The victims of the attack were between 10 and 20 years old. They were all Druze, an ethnic-religious Arab minority. This community represents only 1.6% of the Israeli population and speaks Arabic as their mother tongue.
