Houston, Texas crime: Suspect shot in head during home invasion

According to the Houston Police Department, a woman called 911 saying there were four to five men outside her house with guns knocking on her door.

HOUSTON — A suspect was shot multiple times in the head in a shooting Friday night that appeared to be part of a home invasion, Houston police said.

It happened around 11 p.m. at an apartment complex on Beechnut Street, near Beltway 8, in southwest Houston.

According to Houston police, a woman called 911 saying four or five men with guns were knocking on her door outside her home. At some point, the men forced their way into the home and a shootout broke out.

Police said none of the residents were shot, but one of the men was shot multiple times in the head. He was taken to an area hospital in critical condition.

HPD said it is not yet certain what led to the incident, but that an investigation is ongoing.
