MP: Boy rapes younger sister after watching porn and kills her; mother and two sisters help cover-up | Bhopal News

NEW DELHI: Police in India’s Madhya Pradesh state of Rewa have arrested a 13-year-old boy, his mother and his two elder sisters for the rape and murder of a 9-year-old girl on April 24. Investigations revealed that the boy sexually assaulted his sister after watching a pornographic video and subsequently killed her when she threatened to inform her father. His mother and sisters later helped cover up the crime, according to an official statement.

Superintendent of Police Vivek Singh said, “On April 24, a nine-year-old girl was raped and strangled to death within the premises of Jawa police station. Following this, the police registered the case and started an investigation.” The incident took place in the courtyard of the victim’s house where she was sleeping at the time.

After intensive interrogation and collection of technical evidence, police found that the teenage brother had slept next to the victim that night. Investigations revealed that the boy had raped his sister after watching obscene videos on a mobile phone. When the girl threatened to tell the incident to her father, he strangled her and later confided in his mother.

Superintendent Singh explained, “When the victim threatened to tell his father, the boy strangled her and later woke up his mother and confided everything to her. She then found that the victim was still alive. When the accused saw this, he strangled her again.”

When the boy’s two older sisters realized what had happened, they also woke up. The family then decided to move their bedding to deceive the police before informing them of the incident.

The SP explained, “In the meantime, his two elder sisters also woke up and changed all their beds before informing the police to mislead the investigation. However, after repeated interrogation, they finally admitted their crime.”

On the morning of April 24, local police received information that the body of a girl had been found in the courtyard of her house. The post-mortem report provided evidence pointing to both rape and murder. This prompted the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the case further.

“The police received information on the morning of April 24 that the girl’s body was found in the courtyard of the house. The post-mortem report found evidence of rape and murder and an SIT team was formed to investigate,” Singh explained.

To mislead investigators, the family initially claimed that the girl had died from a poisonous insect bite. However, there were no signs of forced entry into the house, and family members reported no unusual noises during the night.

“The investigation revealed that there was no sign of anyone entering the house. Family members also denied hearing any noise during the night,” Singh said.

The police questioned 50 people and collected technical evidence that revealed inconsistencies in the statements of the family members. This led to intense interrogation that eventually led to them confessing to the crime.

“After collecting technical evidence and questioning 50 people, the police found that the statements of the family members had been altered several times. Based on suspicion, they were interrogated intensively, following which they confessed to the crime,” the SP added.

All four family members have been arrested. Depending on the results of the investigation, further legal action will be taken.
