New Britain Township police seek suspect in shoplifting

According to police, the suspect stole activated gift cards and other merchandise valued at $1,000.



NEW BRITAIN TOWNSHIP, PA – Police are searching for a woman who stole $1,000 worth of gift cards from the Giant store on County Line Road over the weekend.

In the early evening hours of Saturday, July 20, according to police, the woman entered the store, took gift cards of varying denominations from the shelf and took them to the cash register.

Police said after a cashier activated the cards, the woman manipulated employees and management into refunding her the money for the cards. She then left the register with about $1,000 worth of activated gift cards that she had not paid for.

The unknown woman also left the store with unpaid goods in her shopping cart.
