Kevin Falcon stops in Houston

BC United Party Leader Kevin Falcon was in Houston on July 19 to participate in a 4-H event and then to meet with Shane Brienen, his candidate in the Nechako Lakes riding in this fall’s provincial election.

Houston was one of several stops in the northwest and central interior for Falcon, who was also the official leader of the opposition in the provincial legislature.

Prince George, Vanderhoof and Fraser Lake were also on Falcon’s list of visits.

And on July 20, he was at Billy Barker Days in Quesnel, the community’s largest annual community festival.

The Nechako Lakes riding, which starts west of Houston and then extends east through Vanderhoof and Fort St. James, will be a key riding to watch in the provincial election in October.

That’s because it’s now held by John Rustad, the current leader of the provincial Conservatives, who was a member of BC United until he was fired by Falcon for his skepticism about climate change.
