Can the duo of Dawson Knox and Dalton Kincaid take the next step for the Buffalo Bills?

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — We’ve seen a lot of new faces on the Buffalo Bills this year, but at tight end, things will mostly stay the same.

Dawson Knox is entering his sixth NFL season, all with the Bills, Dalton Kincaid is entering his second year of his career and Quintin Morris is entering his third. For Knox, this year isn’t just about continuing to improve on the field.

“I think Josh and Dion are the only offensive players that have been here longer than me. So I think it’s taking that leadership to the next level and having that extra confidence to speak up when I see something that’s not right,” Knox told reporters during the offseason. “It’s an extra level of responsibility, but I’ve enjoyed it so far.”

Between Knox, Kincaid and Morris, the Bills’ top three tight ends combined for 885 receiving yards last season. 673 of those yards came from rookie Dalton Kincaid, who incidentally had a lot more confidence heading into training camp.

“Knowing what to expect going into training camp helps you a lot,” Kincaid told 7 Sports earlier this week. “Last offseason, I didn’t really get a lot of practice because I was injured. But being able to work and know what my strengths and weaknesses are and work on them.”

The Knox-Kincaid duo gives offensive coordinator Joe Brady several options to integrate into the Bills’ playbook. The more time those three and quarterback Josh Allen get to work together, the better the outlook will be for an offense that looks very different than last season.

“The more Dalton and I get on the field, the more one-on-one reps we’ll get with Josh. And the more we get to know Joe (Brady) off the field, the more it’ll help us communicate,” Knox added.

So does Dalton Kincaid build off a strong rookie season and become a primary weapon for Josh Allen and this offense?

Can Dawson Knox stay healthy and return to the stats we saw over the past two seasons?

And will Quintin Morris continue to be useful on special teams and offense? Or will we see the surprise rise of Zach Davidson or Tre’ McKitty?

All of these questions should soon be answered when training camp begins on Wednesday, July 24 at St. John Fisher University.
