State police investigate head-on collision on Route 138 in Voluntown – NBC Connecticut

Three people were hospitalized with minor injuries Saturday following a head-on collision on Route 138 in Voluntown.

State police said a vehicle was traveling west on Route 138 around 10:15 a.m. Saturday when the driver developed an “unknown medical condition.”

According to state police, the vehicle left the road and struck a railing. The vehicle then crossed the median and struck another railing before colliding head-on with an eastbound vehicle.

The driver of the westbound vehicle and the two occupants of the eastbound vehicle were taken to a local hospital with suspected minor injuries.

The state police are investigating the accident.
