One dead after car crash on I-75 in North Port

SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – A 39-year-old driver died in a car crash in North Port around 5:30 a.m. on Friday, July 19.

The accident occurred on I-75 at mile marker 180, just before Toledo Blade Boulevard in North Port. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Florida Highway Patrol, and was taken to Sarasota Memorial Hospital.

The crash is currently being investigated.
