Bellmead police arrest three people after crash that killed 67-year-old cyclist

BELLMEAD, Texas (KXXV) – Bellmead police have arrested three people following a crash that left a 67-year-old bicyclist dead last Sunday.

The driver of the vehicle in which Dennis Welch died was a 14-year-old who has since been arrested and charged – a 10-year-old was also a passenger in the vehicle.

According to police, further investigation led to the arrest of 40-year-old Erika Ramirez Martinz. She was charged with two counts of endangering a child, both felonies punishable by prison time, and one count of involuntary manslaughter, also punishable by prison time.

Lisett Andrea Najera Bellmead, 22, was also charged with selling alcohol to a minor, a Class A misdemeanor.

Bellmead Police are still thoroughly investigating this incident.

“We express our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased,” authorities said.
