Due to ongoing violence related to the quota protest movement, Bangladesh has decided to suspend the Higher Secondary Certificate examinations next week.

The Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee announced on Thursday that the exams scheduled for July 21, 23 and 25 will be postponed.

The committee said the new schedule for the exams would be announced at a later date.

The education authorities could not hold the HSC exams on Thursday due to violence between quota protesters, police and pro-Awami League factions.

The government had previously announced the closure of schools, colleges and universities because of the violence.
