The “Music Behind the Block” series begins with the Grateful Dead tribute band

THOMASTON – The “Music Behind the Block” summer concert series hosted by Thomaston Main Street begins Wednesday, July 31, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Kicking off this year’s lineup is Grateful Dead tribute band Down East Dead.

“Come early to enjoy lawn games and a serving of delicious ice cream from Stone Fox Farm Creamery, courtesy of Here, Hold My Cone!” said a press release from Thomaston Main Street. “Bring your chairs, grab some takeout from one of Thomaston’s many local restaurants and come together for a family-friendly evening of fun, music and camaraderie.”

Now in its fourth year, Music Behind the Block is free and takes place on the lawn behind the Thomaston Municipal Building at 13 Valley Street. There is ample parking behind the business district on Route 1. In the event of rain, the event will be moved to Watts Hall at 174 Main Street.

This series of events runs for four weeks, from July 31 to August 21, with music every night from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. All ages are welcome to this family-friendly activity.

“Music Behind the Block” is presented by Thomaston Main Street and Thomaston’s Community & Economic Development Committee with support from the Dragon Cement TIF.
