Rape: 11-year-old girl raped and murdered by youths in Kolkata | News from Kolkata

Kolkata: An 11-year-old girl was allegedly kidnapped, raped and murdered by a 22-year-old youth from the same locality in Howrah’s Amta. Police said the girl was missing since Sunday. Following a complaint from her parents, police launched an investigation when witnesses said she was last seen with Sushanta Dolui, who lives a few blocks from the girl’s house and works in a lathe factory. During interrogation, Dolui confessed. “He said he lured the girl to a neighbouring field where he raped her. Then he killed her and buried her in a field 500 metres from her house. On Monday, we took him to the crime scene and recovered the body,” a police official said. Sushanta was arrested and police filed a complaint of kidnapping and murder. He was produced before an Uluberia court on Tuesday.
