New Castle police search several properties owned by the same company; owner arrested on drug charges

NEW CASTLE, Indiana – A New Castle business owner was arrested Monday on several drug charges.

According to a post on the New Castle Police Department’s Facebook page, Kyle B. Huckeby was arrested for trafficking cocaine, trafficking in a Schedule IV controlled substance and maintaining a public disorderly conduct. According to NCPD, Huckeby owns and operates LHH Properties, a company that manages several properties in Henry County.


Police executed search warrants at LHH properties in the 1800 block of Grand Avenue and the 600 block of South 18th Street. Police also conducted searches at two LHH properties on A Avenue.

The NCPD reported that during the searches, officers seized 75 grams of cocaine, 32 firearms, drug paraphernalia and approximately $11,000. Police estimate the street value of the cocaine likely exceeds $7,000.

Including Huckeby, the NCPD’s searches resulted in seven arrests. However, the other six people police arrested face lesser offenses such as possession of cocaine – a Level 6 felony – and public nuisance – a Class B misdemeanor.

The most serious of the charges against Huckeby – trafficking cocaine – is a Level 2 felony in Indiana. The maximum penalty for a Level 2 felony in the Hoosier State is 30 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.
