Atmore man dead after crash on I-10: FHP

MADISON COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) – Lanes were closed and an Atmore man died after a single-vehicle crash, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

According to an FHP press release, the accident occurred at approximately 1:28 a.m. on July 9 near mile marker 251 on westbound Interstate 10.

Officials said a 56-year-old Atmore man drove off the road with his pickup truck towing a boat trailer and onto the paved shoulder.

According to the report, the man attempted to get back on the road, but his boat skidded, causing the vehicle to tip over and hit the guardrail.

Emergency services arrived at the scene, temporarily closing the westbound lanes, and confirmed the driver’s death.
