Two people died and four were injured in the accident in Waterford

Pennsylvania State Police are continuing their investigation into a two-vehicle crash in Waterford Township Friday evening that left two Erie County residents dead and four others seriously injured.

The driver of one of the vehicles, identified by State Police in Erie as Brandon K. Borland, 23, of Waterford, and a passenger in the other vehicle, identified as Alycia N. Ingram, 19, of Union City, died in the crash on Route 97 west of Union Road, authorities reported.

The accident was reported at 9:42 p.m. Friday, state police reported. Borland and Ingram were both pronounced dead at the scene shortly before 11 p.m., according to the Erie County coroner’s office.

According to investigators, a 2009 Chevrolet HHR driven by Borland was traveling south on Route 97 and attempting to pass several vehicles when it collided head-on with a 2006 Buick Rainier traveling north on Route 97.

The 18-year-old driver of the Buick and three other passengers in his vehicle, a 22-year-old man, a 17-year-old girl and a 19-year-old man, all from Union City, were taken to UPMC Hamot with suspected serious injuries, state police said. Updated information on the condition of the four people was not available Monday morning.
