Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison arrested for drunk driving

LOS ANGELES – Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison was arrested Friday night in Los Angeles on suspicion of driving under the influence, the California Highway Patrol said.

Authorities said Addison was in a Rolls Royce blocking one lane of westbound I-105 and was asleep at the wheel when a trooper approached him.

He was arrested after a drunken driving investigation was completed shortly before midnight, the statement said.

In a statement to KARE 11, the Vikings confirmed the arrest of the young receiver:

“We are aware of the arrest of Jordan Addison last Friday and are currently gathering additional information regarding the incident.”

The incident is Addison’s second traffic-related violation after he pleaded guilty to speeding in Saint Paul in July 2023.

In that case, Addison was pulled over by a Minnesota State Trooper after he was caught speeding on I-94 through downtown St. Paul at 140 mph in a 55 zone, a full 85 mph over the speed limit. The Vikings rookie later apologized for his poor judgment, telling reporters he was speeding because of an emergency involving his dog.

The Vikings brought Addison to Minnesota with their first-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, where he had immediate success despite playing with several different quarterbacks.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
