Two men arrested after drug trafficking investigation in Maine

Two men were arrested early Friday morning after a lengthy drug trafficking investigation in Lewiston.

Two men arrested following investigation into drug trafficking

Lewiston police said 35-year-old Keith Gauthier and 48-year-old David Giasson, both of Lewiston, were taken into custody after a search warrant was executed at 70 River Street.

Drugs and stolen firearms seized

Officers seized approximately 60 grams of methamphetamine, 20 grams of heroin/fentanyl and a stolen firearm.

Man charged with serious drug trafficking

Gauthier is charged with two counts of aggravated drug trafficking, theft by receiving stolen goods (firearm) and violation of conditional release.

Arrest warrants were issued against the suspect

Arrest warrants were issued against Giasson for violating parole, aggravated forgery and theft by unauthorized possession or transfer.

Further arrests possible

Police say more arrests are expected. Law enforcement agencies investigating the case include the Lewiston Police Department, the Maine State Police Tactical Team and the ATF.
