Investigations into shooting involving a police officer in Chula Vista underway

CHULA VISTA, Calif. – The investigation is ongoing into a shooting involving a Chula Vista police officer.

According to a Chula Vista Police post on “X,” an officer shot and killed a person near the Chula Vista Bayfront around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday morning.

It is unclear what led to the shooting.

The 700 block of H Street and Marina Parkway north of Sandpiper Way is currently closed due to the shooting investigation. The public is asked to avoid the area.

None of the officers were injured. The suspect was taken to the hospital.
