HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – A man was arrested Thursday after police say he attacked several people while drunk at a Quality Inn in Evansville.

According to an affidavit obtained by Eyewitness News, Evansville officers responded to an attack that occurred at a Quality Inn on Elpers Road. There, police encountered two victims outside the hotel, both of whom were injured.

Officers said they then tracked down the attacker in a hotel room and identified him as Stuart Cater. They then arrested Cater.

The victims later told officers that Cater had been drinking and had driven to a gas station to get more beer. They further said that when he returned to the hotel parking lot, they tried to take his car keys. That’s when, the victims say, they were attacked by Cater.

Officials say surveillance camera footage shows Cater chasing one of the victims into the hotel and beating him in front of a juvenile. They say the footage also shows Cater hitting a woman at least twice as she tried to use a phone.
