Accident in Ohio claims one life on Highway 231

HENDERSON, Kentucky (WEHT) – One person died in a crash on Highway 231 in Ohio County.

The Ohio County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO) said that at approximately 12:14 a.m. on July 4, Ohio County 911 received a call about a two-vehicle crash in the 3000 block of U.S. Highway 231 South near Cromwell.

According to troopers, when they arrived, they found that a 2002 Buick Century driven by Gary Huxoll of Madisonville was traveling northbound and collided with a semi-truck traveling southbound on 231. The semi-truck was driven by Kenneth David of North Carolina.

Authorities say Huxoll was pronounced dead at the scene by the Ohio County Coroner’s Office. The Ohio County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating.
