Amy Robach recounted a memorable Fourth of July when she was a teenager.

In the latest episode of Amy and TJ In her podcast, the TV presenter reminisced and revealed: “All of these traditions have somehow been forgotten because of a Fourth of July when I was 14. It’s actually a serious matter.”

Shen said the holiday reminds her of the day her uncle was struck by lightning while standing “by the tree,” adding, “My parents were blown away while standing next to him, and he just collapsed. My parents, my mother and my father were seriously injured. They were in the hospital for weeks.”

She also said that her “mother was in the hospital for weeks. My father was in intensive care, but their tennis shoes were blown off their feet.”

“They had to have their clothes cut off. My father had to be given CPR. And my Uncle Jack eventually died,” she told her fans, warning: “Yes, lightning kills.”

Before leaving the subject, she noted, “The Fourth of July is one of those holidays where everyone is out and about and there are often thunderstorms.”
