Shannon Sharpe apologizes to Megan Thee Stallion for sexual comments

Shannon Sharpe, often affectionately called “Unc,” had quite an “oldhead” moment when he explicitly described how he would engage in sexual activity with Megan Thee Stallion a few months ago. The 56-year-old media personality apologized to the Houston rapper during her recent appearance on Club Shay Shay.

“Meg, before we go any further, I want to personally apologize to you,” the NFL Hall of Famer said at the start of their conversation. “I always wanted to sit down with you and have a conversation – I didn’t know if that would be possible… I… told a joke and I said it in jest, but I think the joke would have been just as funny if I had left you out of it.”

He apologized for “any unwanted attention, harm, shame and embarrassment” he may have caused Meg or her family. Megan The rapper took the apology seriously and even put her hands over her heart. Afterwards, the two toasted with some of his Shay By Le Portier cognac and talked about her music career, JAY-Z, Beyoncé and much more.

In November 2023, Shannon Sharpe received a lot of backlash for his unfiltered comments about Megan Thee Stallion on Nightcap“I’d stretch them out about quarter to three,” he said. “I’d do it three ways, Ocho: deep, hard and continuous… I’d make them open like saloon doors.”

“I love Shannon but this is completely inappropriate,” one fan wrote on Instagram. “He works for ESPN. They don’t play this, he should hold back with these comments. It’s not the 90’s anymore.” Another user said the timing was bad, given the sexual harassment lawsuits that were being filed at the time, namely Diddy’s. “With all the lawsuits coming out, I want men to just chill out for a minute,” he wrote. “Like step back from the open/public sex talk and stories and find something safe to talk about.”

Be that as it may, the First take The moderator apologized shortly after his initial comments and the subsequent reactions. “If Meg had a problem with anything I said, I want to take the time to say: I’m sorry. I apologize,” he said. His Nightcap Co-host Chad Ochocinco assured him that he still has a good relationship with both himself and the fans, saying, “And we love you.”
