AN ARMED SUSPECT THREATENING A FAMILY WAS SHOT BY POLICE IN TAYLOR MILL, KENTUCKY. THANKS FOR BEING THERE AT 11, I’M LINDSEY STONE. IT HAPPENED IN A HOUSE ON GRAND AVENUE. WLWT NEWS FIVE’S DAISY KERSHAW IS ACCEPTANCE LIVE FROM THE SCENE. DAISY, WHAT CAN YOU TELL US? LINDSEY. WHEN POLICE ENTERED THEY FOUND THE SUSPECT THREATENING A FAMILY MEMBER WITH A GUN. THEN THE INVESTIGATORS FIRED AT LEAST ONE SHOT AT THE SUSPECT. AS OF THIS EVENING, THERE ARE STILL MANY UNANSWERED QUESTIONS, BUT WE KNOW ONE PERSON IS DEAD. EARLIER WE SAW CORPORATE CERTIFICATES ON THE SCENE. NEIGHBORS TELL US THAT A COUPLE LIVES IN THE HOUSE AND THAT THEY HAVE CHILDREN. THEY SAY THAT POLICE HAVE BEEN CALLED TO THE RESIDENCE SEVERAL TIMES IN THE LAST THREE WEEKS. COVINGTON AND TAYLOR MILL POLICE BOTH RESPONDED TO TONIGHT’S CALL THAT ENDED WITH A POLICE OFFICER SHOOTING THE SUSPECT. TAYLOR MILL POLICE SAY THIS IS AN ISOLATE INCIDENT AS CALLS TO DIRECTORY REVEAL MORE ABOUT THIS TERRIFYING SITUATION. Callers are reporting dad threatening to kill their mom. This David Gallagher we had issues with the other day is probably armed with a knife because the mom is screaming “no.” Apparently this male candidate told the sister he was going to slit the mom’s throat if we showed up. It’s really horrible to hear we know the investigation is ongoing right now. What isn’t clear yet is how this other family member is doing. However, we will continue to be in contact with police and will be asking those questions live tonight in Taylor Mill, Kentucky, DAISY KERSHAW, WLWT NEWS FIVE. DAISY. IT’S ABSOLUTELY HEARTBREAKING TO THINK OF THE CHILDREN THAT WAS IMPACTED. I’M SURE OF IT. A VERY TERRIBLE, SCARY SITUATION FOR EVERYONE INVOLVED. A man died after being shot by police in Taylor Mill on Sunday, Kentucky State Police said in an update Monday afternoon. It happened around 3 p.m. Sunday when officers from Taylor Mill and Covington were called to Grand Avenue where a suspect was threatening a family member with a knife. Upon arrival, investigators say officers fired at least one shot at the suspect. According to KSP, the suspect, a man, died at the scene. His identity has not yet been released by officers. Police said there is no threat to the public and anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Kentucky State Police at 859-428-1212. KSP’s investigation is ongoing. Neighbors told WLWT that a couple lived in the home police were called to and that police had been called to the home several times in recent weeks.

A man died after being shot by police in Taylor Mill on Sunday, Kentucky State Police said in an update Monday afternoon.

It happened around 3 p.m. on Sunday when Taylor Mill and Covington police officers responded to Grand Avenue where a suspect was threatening a family member with a knife.

Upon arrival, investigators said officers fired at least one shot at the suspect. According to KSP, the suspect, a man, died at the scene. His identity has not yet been released by officers.

Police said there is no danger to the public. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Kentucky State Police at 859-428-1212.

An investigation by KSP is still ongoing.

Neighbors told WLWT that a married couple lived in the home police were called to and that police had been called to the home several times in the past few weeks.
