Spray area and cafe/retail are among improvements to Buffalo Harbor State Park

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Work is underway on $47.5 million in improvements to Buffalo Harbor State Park.

Upgrades include:

  • A new spraying ground
  • Signature art sculpture and fountain
  • Cafe/Retail area
  • Park office with public toilets
  • Expanding the playground to include additional inclusive equipment
  • Space dedicated to food trucks and modernized park furniture

The governor’s office said the splash pad would provide a safe way to cool off on the waterfront and would be adjacent to a large buffalo sculpture/fountain.

These improvements come as officials work to increase accessibility to the Buffalo Outer Harbor waterfront.

In April, the Terminal B Event Center and Bell Slip at Buffalo’s Outer Harbor opened.

In May, the Outer Harbor Live concert series at Terminal B kicked off as we lined up early to see Chappell Roan.
