Man arrested for sexual abuse of a child

The Special Problems Enforcement & Response Team (SPEAR) and officers from the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 56-year-old man on two counts of sexual assault around 2 p.m. Wednesday.

The man was booked into the Garfield County Jail and charged with two counts of sexual abuse of a child in a position of trust (the victim was under 15), a Class 3 felony.

He was also arrested for two counts of unlawful sexual contact, a first-class misdemeanor.
