Rain chances this morning are highest west and northwest of Nashville. Storms could bring torrential rain and gusty winds.

This afternoon and evening there is a possibility of severe thunderstorms with damaging winds and heavy rain. It will also be hot and humid, with heat index values ​​exceeding 38 degrees in some places. Maximum temperatures will be between 30 and 35 degrees.

THURSDAY

Thursday is the best day in the forecast. After a few morning showers in some areas, expect a slight drop in humidity and highs in the 90s.

FIRST WEATHER WARNING DAYS – THIS WEEKEND

A First weather warning day is in effect every day this weekend due to very hot and humid weather. Saturday could be one of the hottest yet with heat indices in the 100 to 110 degree range.

Maximum temperatures of around 35 degrees and a heat index of over 38 degrees are expected on Friday. A dry day with alternating sun and clouds is expected.

Saturday could be the hottest day on record, with highs between 35 and 40 degrees and dangerous heat index levels. Thunderstorms are possible overnight.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected on Sunday as a front moves through the area. Maximum temperatures will be just above 35 degrees, with muggy weather.

NEXT WEEK

Humidity will drop a little on Monday. However, very hot weather is expected for the whole of next week. Tuesday is another First weather warning day as the maximum temperatures will rise again to over 35 degrees.
