Work on the 2nd generation Vision Pro has reportedly been suspended

Apple has reportedly stopped work on the Vision Pro 2 to work on a cheaper model.

It is said that Apple planned to split the Vision line into two models, a low-cost device and the “Pro” model. In addition, Apple stopped working on the Vision Pro 2 as it gradually aimed at cutting costs and producing a cheaper model with fewer features compared to the Vision Pro 2.

Work on the 2nd generation Vision Pro has reportedly been suspended

The company began working on the cheaper version, called the N109, in 2022 with the goal of selling the product at the same price as a $1,600 iPhone model. The company continues to struggle to find ways to reduce costs without sacrificing many of the Pro model’s features, delaying the planned release to late 2025.

The model will have fewer cameras, smaller speakers, a simpler headband and lighter weight, but will still feature its high-end displays.

There is still a chance that Apple will resume work on the 2nd generation Vision Pro in the future.
