Rape: 7-year-old girl raped in empty train carriage at East Singhbhum railway station, Odisha man arrested | Ranchi News

Jamshedpur: A seven-year-old girl was raped by a 30-year-old man in the coach of a train parked at a railway station on Friday night. The accused, a native of Cuttack in Odisha, had allegedly come to the city in search of a job and got down at the railway station on the morning of the incident, police said. According to sources, the accused approached the girl, who was loitering alone on platform 1, and offered her a biscuit. He then lured her into the coach with the promise of buying her chips, where he allegedly raped her. The girl’s screams alerted a passenger, who informed a Railway Protection Force constable. He arrested the accused. The girl’s mother, a rag-picker who lives in the railway station premises, said, “When I could not find my child, I initially looked for her, but as I assumed that she might be somewhere nearby, I stopped looking for her.”
