Suraj Revanna, brother of Prajwal, arrested for sexually abusing a man | Bangalore News

Holenarasipura police on Saturday registered the sexual assault case under sections 377 (sexual intercourse against the order of nature), 342 (wrongful deprivation of liberty), 506 (intentionally insulting to provoke disturbance of public peace) and 34 (common intention) of the IPC. The police have named both Suraj Revanna and Shivakumar as accused in the case.

Before filing the lawsuit, the victim had also written a complaint to the Minister of Interior and the Director General of Police of the state.

According to the FIR seen by The Indian Express, the victim allegedly visited Suraj Revanna at a farm in Holenarasipura taluk in Hassan district on June 16 at around 6.15 pm.

The plaintiff alleged that the MLC stripped and sexually abused him and threatened to kill his family.

The complainant also alleged that Suraj Revanna had promised him a job and political advancement opportunities. “I informed Shivakumar about the incident and said I will fight for justice. Later, Shivakumar offered me Rs 20 crore if I did not disclose the information. However, fearing being killed, I came to Bengaluru on Wednesday. I am ready to provide evidence to support these allegations,” he said in his complaint.

Based on Shivakumar’s complaint on Friday, police have registered a case against the alleged victim under sections 384 (extortion), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 34 (involvement of others in conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Suraj and Prajwal are the sons of JD(S) MP HD Revanna and Bhavani Revanna, who herself is accused of kidnapping one of Prajwal’s alleged victims of sexual assault. Their grandfather is former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda and their uncle is Union minister HD Kumaraswamy.

Prajwal Revanna, a former JD(S) MP from Hassan, was arrested in three cases of sexual assault.
