Suspect arrested in alleged knife attack on parents near Sedona

PHOENIX — A suspect is in custody after the alleged stabbing of his parents Saturday morning in a small town south of Sedona, authorities said.

Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office officers responded to reports of the stabbing at a home near Coffee Pot Rock Drive in the Village of Oak Creek around 5:30 a.m.

Officers found the suspect, 33-year-old Lauren Levinson, on the street near the home and arrested her without incident, the YCSO said.

When a YCSO sergeant entered the home, he found the suspect’s parents, both suffering from stab wounds. The mother had “numerous stab wounds to her back” and the father had been “stabbed multiple times in the arm,” according to the YCSO.

One of the parents had called the suspect’s brother, who arrived at the scene to help the sergeant perform life-saving measures. The mother’s wounds had to be treated so her lungs could continue to function, and the father’s arm had to be secured with a tourniquet.

The mother and father were taken to Flagstaff Medical Center and Verde Valley Medical Center, respectively, for further treatment.

YCSO investigators continue to investigate the incident.
