American Fork police classify shooting death of husband and wife as murder-suicide

AMERICAN FORK, Utah (ABC4) — American Fork Police have officially two deaths by firearms on Thursday, June 20th as a murder-suicide

Police said the two people found were identified as husband Olin Johnson, 57, and wife Kerilyn Johnson, 52. Police said the investigation suggests that Olin shot Kerilyn before shooting himself.

Police were dispatched to the area between 1400 North and 80 East in American Fork at 12:41 p.m. on Thursday after two people were reported shot.

Police said investigators are waiting for final tests from the Utah Medical Examiner before making a final decision on the case.

“At this point, the family requests privacy as they mourn their loss. We extend our deepest and most sincere condolences to the family and friends of Olin and Kerilyn,” American Fork police said in a statement.
