Bizarre curb incident at Spanish Grand Prix leads to red flag

Fernando Alonso caused a bizarre red flag in the first practice session for the Spanish Grand Prix at the weekend.

After driving over the curb at the exit of Turn 9, a large piece of Alonso’s front wing came off. AstonMartin.

What happened to Alonso?

A strange incident occurred for the Spaniard: As Alonso was driving around the track, part of his front wing flew off and he immediately radioed his team to assess the damage.

The session was adjourned with a red flag to clear the debris. McLaren from Lando Norris is at the top of the timetable.

When the Aston Martin team returned to the garage, they examined Alonso’s car and found that it had been damaged in the wishbone area.

It didn’t take long for the marshals to clear away the loose piece of wing, the session continued and the drivers left the pits.

Alonso managed to return to the track after repairing his car and finished the session in P9.
