Man shot dead in Winston-Salem; murder investigation underway, police say

WINSTON-SALEM, NC (WGHP) — Winston-Salem police launched a homicide investigation Thursday after a man was found dead with a gunshot wound, according to a Winston-Salem police news release.

At 9:39 a.m., Winston-Salem officers responded to Northwest Boulevard on a report of a dead person.


The victim was identified by investigators as Brandon Michael Odom, 35, of Winton-Salem. He was shot in the upper body.
